| With the aim of bringing science near to the general community, in 1974 IWSA started the Science for Citizen Library. Since then, the library has changed its profile greatly catering to all sections of the population. |

| Navi Mumbai Mahanagarpalika started its grant of Rs. 5000/yr from 1998. With this grant, several science books for school children were purchased. A reference library for the trainees of Balwadi / Creche Teacher' Training course was started. |

| In 2001, IWSA library got further recognition (D category) and the govt. grant was increased from Rs.10,000/- to 16,000/year. In 2003 and 2004 (in the category C), grants of Rs. 36,000/ and Rs.72,000/yr were sanctioned. |

| As of today (November 2007), the number of books are 2000 (Marathi, Hindi and English). As in any other science library, books are classified into different science subjects: physics, chemistry, computer science, biological sciences (nutrition, diseases, etc), science education and fiction --Marathi, English, Hindi. | |||
| Several magazines and periodicals are also available in the library (please see the list below). | |||
| Library timings are 12 noon to 7.00 p.m. Trained librarians are capably looking after the library. | |||
Library Membership is open to all. The fee structure is as follows: |

| Study facility is available for hostelites and outsiders too. | |||
