IWSA offers a variety of scholarships, fellowships to young girls so that they can continue/pursue scientific training or science based careers.
In 1978, IWSA began a 'Monthly Stipend Project' to promote Primary School education of young girls.

Members, Board of Trustees and past President of IWSA donated considerable amounts
of money to institute scholarships for female students
taking up science career. The
interest money of the corpus donation is being utilised for the following
awards in basic sciences and
technology. All India Conference of Women in Science, organised by IWSA ( 2 awards). Age not to exceed 35 years.
Triennial Conference--All India Meeting of Women Science (2 awards). Age not to exceed 35 years.

application can be sent at any time of the year accompanied by the detailed bio-data, list of publications, note on contributions to be
considered for the
award, with the reprints of patents, negotiations with the industry, etc. A recommendation
from
the Head of the Department
/ Director of the Institute will be preferred. Any age above 35 years. All the applicants will be screened by the Screening Committee; its decision will be communicated to the awardees within two weeks of the last date of applications for travel grant at the time of conference for paper presented. The name of the recipient scientist for innovative award shall be declared in December of that year.
4. 'Merit cum Means Scholarships' given to girl students pursuing Science Education. a) Junior College i.e. 11th Std. and 12th Std.: for two students. b) Degree College i.e. 1st, 2nd & 3rd year: two students.
5. "Mrs. Kamlabai Govind Vaidya" Award in the memory of the mother of Dr. Sunita Mahajan (an IWSA Member) is given to the Best Computer Student of the DCS Computer Course (Diploma in Computer Science) conducted at IWSA Computer Center Vashi, Navi Mumbai, every year.
6. "Dr. Vasanta Naidu" Award in the memory of sister of Dr. Uma Rao (IWSA member) is given to girl student securing highest number of marks at S.S.C. & H.S.C. exam held in March every year.
7. The interest money earned on the corpus donation from Dr. Usha Thakare, Mrs. Meenakshi Kale, Mrs. Deepti Sen and Mrs. Snehalata Bhavsar--all IWSA members--is disbursed to the needy students of 'Teachers Training Course' conducted by IWSA.
